Sleep Medicine is a specialty that most, if not all, primary care physicians are not experts in. Rested Care Management will be that expert for you. We will partner with you to ensure your patients receive the treatment they need with sleep education to obtain a healthier lifestyle.
Dr. Joshua J. Lennon explained, “Sleep apnea affects every organ system in the body. And the best way to reduce risk of further disease and improve symptoms is with positive airway pressure.” With this being understood he further explained “unfortunately, the equipment can be challenging for many individuals trying to improve their health but thankfully the guidance provided by clinical sleep health specialists has been shown to both improve adherence to prescribed treatments and improve clinical outcomes."
According to the American Heart Association, Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Cardiovascular Disease: A Scientific Statement From the American Heart Association | Circulation (ahajournals.org), “Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is widely under-diagnosed - 86 to 95% of individuals found in population surveys with clinically significant OSA report no prior OSA diagnosis and OSA is associated with reduced survival rates in epidemiological studies. Severe OSA is associated with an increased all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.”

Screen patients for possible sleep apnea

Confirm PCP received results of sleep study and treatment options

Educate patients on findings, options of initial steps, and give realistic expectations

Ensure patients has an understanding on results and options

Follow up with providers to confirm an appointment has been scheduled

Encourage follow - up office visit with PCP after 30 days to discuss overall experience
